Counseling through Covid-19
TO MY CLIENTS (CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE):
We all know that there’s widespread concern in our community about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and I want you to know that your health is my top priority. I have decided to conduct all sessions virtually, either by phone or by video, through March 25th; I will reassess at that time.
I do encourage you to meet with me via a secure video appointment. Research shows that they can be just as effective as in-person appointments, and we can continue your care without interruption. If you're interested, let me know and I'll make the necessary arrangements. I will share a Consent for Tele-therapy form via your client portal, and will require you to sign it prior to our first video session. I will also share a guide to Telehealth, which includes basic tips and instructions on how to join a video appointment as well as FAQs to make our first video call a success.
If a video appointment does not appeal to you, please specify your preference for a phone session. And if neither are okay, we will have to cancel our scheduled appointment(s) through at least March 25th. I do urge you to continue with our sessions in some fashion, as taking care of yourself, keeping with some sort of structure, and connecting with others are extremely important during this time.
Please refer to the CDC’s dedicated 2019-ncov website for additional information, and maintain awareness by checking the official communications from the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
